Happy Mail, WIP and finished project

Finally, I received the package I expected to get from Moore Stitches http://www.moorestitchespa.com/ , a local needlework store in Altoona, PA. I bought several Mirabilia patterns and other charts, beads and specialty threads when I was there.  I was looking for the “Home of the Needleworker” chart but they don’t have it that time. Doris, the owner of the shop said she’ll order one for me and send it by mail. I totally forgot about it when I got back home. After e-mail exchanges with her, she sent me the chart with the fabric. I am a happy bee.    I have lots of WIPs (work-in-progress) going on. Here is one of them. It is called Cozy Cove from the Dimensions Gold Collection. I am working on the the bottom right side of the design, as shown here; I like doing the back-stitches as I go. It gives me the feeling that I have accomplished something. I purchased this kit last Spring at the Salty Yarn in Ocean City. Country scene designs like this one...

A visit to the Museum of Shenandoah Valley

June 21, 2014 Initially, we planned on taking the trip up north to Carlisle in Pennsylvania to visit the military museum there. But since it was raining early this morning, I suggested it is time to visit instead the museum that is closest to our place. The Museum of Shenandoah Valley is located in 901 Amherst Street, Winchester, Virginia just 30 minutes away from our house. We love visiting museums and learn the local history through its exhibits. I thought this time we have to learn more about the local history, particularly about the Shenandoah Valley. The entrance fee is $10 for adult, $8 for seniors and youth, and free for kids ages 12 and under. Below is the museum building.
