Happy Mail, WIP and finished project

Finally, I received the package I expected to get from Moore Stitches http://www.moorestitchespa.com/, a local needlework store in Altoona, PA. I bought several Mirabilia patterns and other charts, beads and specialty threads when I was there.  I was looking for the “Home of the Needleworker” chart but they don’t have it that time. Doris, the owner of the shop said she’ll order one for me and send it by mail. I totally forgot about it when I got back home. After e-mail exchanges with her, she sent me the chart with the fabric. I am a happy bee. 




 
I have lots of WIPs (work-in-progress) going on. Here is one of them. It is called Cozy Cove from the Dimensions Gold Collection. I am working on the the bottom right side of the design, as shown here;


I like doing the back-stitches as I go. It gives me the feeling that I have accomplished something. I purchased this kit last Spring at the Salty Yarn in Ocean City. Country scene designs like this one is one of my favorites. I enjoy stitching it because of the beautiful colors and those cute people and animals on it. Hopefully, I'll get it done before the end of 2014 :).

No matter how busy I am, I always find time to stitch. For me, it is so relaxing. The only problem is, I get so excited every time I start a new project. And, I keep on starting new projects. Sometimes, I just stitch a block or two then put it aside. Last month, I started organizing my stash, flipping pages of magazines, and going through all of my UFOs (UnFinished Objects) in ziplock bags that I stored in a big wooden chest. I found this one and decided to finish it. I finished the stitching in May but just framed it two days ago. I was lucky to find the frame from Howard's Art Supplies & Custom Framing in Hagerstown, MD. They also cut the glass for me. .


I am happy and so pleased of the result.

October Cross Stitch Work-in-Progress

The trend in cross stitching world right now is to work on a project that is picked by the decision wheel or roulette. I like the idea so I downloaded the app on my phone. I like the idea of not wasting my energy deciding which one to stitch for the day. Most of the time, it is a difficult process for me since I have about 150 plus of projects wanting my attention. So, I decided to have the first set of 11 projects. They are based on the following categories. One big full coverage project - my plan is to stitch 100-200 stitches a day on this project One Mirabilia design  One Lavender and Lace design One Joan Elliot design  One Dimension kit One Christmas stocking Five various designs from different designers I have chosen the projects for this endeavor. Diamond Painting Unboxing

On August 28th, I received the largest diamond painting kit I have purchased so far. I ordered it from AliExpress vendor. It was on sale, I think but I bought it for $16 free shipping. Here is what it looked like when I received the goods. The supplies were not in a box like the ones I saw on YouTube and Facebook. They were wrapped in a bubble wrap. I figured maybe because it was a bit cheaper. These are the contents. I have all the diamonds that are required for this project. I am not sure what are that blue and black plastic thingy though. I am not sure what it is for. Can you please tell me? They called this a Dream Home - Cabin Scenery. And I think it is a 90x40 cm picture size. This is a round drill kit.
