Cross Stitch Update - L&L project, a Stitch Maynia and a new start
Hello friends,
I thought I wanted to just work on one project this time. But, I gave in to the temptation. And, I lied to myself about implementing that rule. I know it will not succeed since I get bored so easily. I did work on the L&L Fairy dreams project more this week but I put some stitches on the Strawberry Sampler and this week I started a new project. How awesome is that? 😁
💗LAVENDER AND LACE - FAIRY DREAMS UPDATE
This has been one of my oldest Work-in-Progress (WIP). I started it, maybe in 2010. It was put aside because I did not enjoy the beading at that time. The beaded garland that the angel is carrying is stitch in alternating colors. That is the best way I can describe it. There's no repeatitive pattern. I used an invisible sewing thread before but the thread was so difficult to work with. As of now, I decided to use the DMC thread that is closer to the color of the fabric. This way, I don't have to change the thread every time I stitch a different bead color. And since the dress of the angel is so huge, I decided to use the parking method. I think using the DMC thread and doing the parking method make things faster.
And this is my update as of 8/26/18.
💗STRAWBERRY SAMPLER
I joined the Stitch Maynia in 2017. Honestly, I don't know where I put my list but I remember that I started 15 projects at that time. This is one of them. I am not a fan of samplers, but sometimes, I would find one or two designs that I would like to stitch. I really think this design is so pretty. Someone told me on Facebook that the designer is deceased. It is sad to know that. Sometimes, I don't pay attention to the designers but I want to change that. I think it is exciting to get to know the designer of every project I have, maybe spend a few minutes on Google, checking if there's information out there regarding the designer.
Here is my progress so far.
💓NEW START
I decided to have a small project that I will carry with me to work and doctor appointments. It is a Dimension Kit by Debbie Mum. I started this on the 21st of August 2018 when I used my 30-minute extra lunch as my incentive for doing a great job at work.
I hope to be able to update weekly this time. I cannot promise though, but I will try. I also want to update my finished folders here. Also, I wanted to create a list of all the projects I have started. I have this idea that if I organize and keep them in a place where they can be easily accessible, I can do that rotation thing. I have heard about a decision roulette app from Bendy Stitchy. It helps in deciding which project to do next. I like the idea so I have downloaded this app and would like to use this for the rotation that I plan as soon as I get my WIPS organized.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I hope you have a wonderful day. Please follow me and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to do so.
Much Love,
Celia
