Diamond Painting - Finished and Framed and new project Unboxing

I was so excited I finished another diamond painting project. This is my second diamond painting. It was such fun to do and so addicting. When I was looking for another kit to purchase, I had this abstract art in mind. I thought that abstract arts work well with DP. When I saw this kit, I bought it right away. It describes me. I love the colorful stuff and I play guitar. It took me a while to finish this small project but it was worth the wait.

I framed this piece myself. I went to Hobby Lobby to look for a frame that will fit the dimension of the design. The design is about 11.5 x 15.5. I end up buying the12x16 metal frame. I used a black masking tape to tape the edges around the design. This is to cover the sticky part and also to match the extra 0.50 on both sides with the frame color for a neat finish. I then cut the canvas to 12 x 16 inches, with an extra 0.25 inches on all four sides, making sure that the design is centered. It looks really great and the black frame just completed the look.

So happy with the result.

Yesterday, I received another diamond painting design I ordered from Amazon two days ago. I wanted another abstract design. This one is from a Lowell Hillcrest brand. I love the kind of canvas they used. It feels different from the other canvas used for diamond painting. I also love the three picker end of the pen and the plastic bags containing the diamonds are marked with DMC numbers. This is useful when storing them for future use because I don't throw away extra diamonds when I am done with the kit.

The box - it protects the item inside

The contents. Canvas is not crumpled or creased.

The design

I have started putting diamonds on the upper left corner of the design.

Just to show how they mark the bags with the corresponding DMC number.

I decided to start on this while cooking something in the kitchen. I was just so excited. I am now working on two DP projects but I hope to finish this one the soonest. I don't like having too many DP projects at the same time.

My staycation week is over. Tomorrow, I will be back to work. I am still going through all my cross stitch projects that I have started and put aside. I think there are more than 150 of them. I am doing inventory and taking pictures of them, then I will create an album here on my blog. Stay tuned.

Happy Sunday and Happy stitching guys. Lovelots, Celia.
